Hello, my fiery friends. Happy Friday! I have been thinking of many things that one can use to improve one’s writing. I did NaNoWriMo in November. In our regional chatroom, there is a chat-bot named Timmy. He can randomly do things to people – throw pillows at you, for example. Timmy also can give you random prompts to use for the next “word war”. A word war is a timed period in which you type your brains out and at the end of that period, you see how many words you have come up with.
At one of the virtual gatherings in our chat room, Timmy called me out by name and said “Write a scene in which the weather plays a vital part.” I sat down and thought about it for a couple of minutes. When the timer went off to start a character whom I had not seen much of that month, told me this terrific story. It was also one of the best word count totals I had during the evening.
If you are interested in another random plan to boost your writing, I found this online. It may or may not be of interest. I think it will be something I do in May or June to help flesh out my character for this year’s NaNoWriMo.
