The Art of Discovery

Today I want to invite you to think about finding things. This month’s Topic Post brings a lot to the table for thinking about loss. So, when thinking about loss, how do you find again or translate what is missing?

There are many different ways to find something. You can start out with your purpose mapped out in front of you; begin as a journey or quest. Or you can find something without knowing you were missing it, only realizing the hole the thing fills once you’ve spontaneously stumbled over it. Or you could have already given up and forgotten about that which was missing, that which you were looking for, only to have it turn up, as if by magic, when you least expect it.

When you write, how do you find your words? When you write, how do your characters/narrators/speakers make their necessary discoveries?

Remember, June’s theme is Lost & Found, the deadline is 4 a.m. Monday, June 29. Find inspiration with our writing games which we will host throughout the month, check out last week’s game HERE.

You are invited to attend a Google Hangouts session on June 14. Stay tuned for more details. We can’t wait to see you!
