Winter Writing Prizes

Winter is upon us, and as I discovered while scrolling through the latest issue of Poets & Writers Magazine, a lot of contest deadlines are just around the corner, too. Here’s a brief list of contests (with entry fees) for your browsing pleasure. P & W is an awesome publication — if you haven’t already checked out the articles over there, today would be a good day to give them a chance!

January Short Fiction & Poetry Deadlines:

Literal Latté’s K. Margaret Grossman Fiction Award

Sixfold’s Short Story and Poetry Awards

A Room of Her Own Foundation’s Orlando Prizes

Chattahoochee Review’s Lamar York Prizes

Have you discovered any interesting contests out there on the web? Let us know. Meanwhile, warm up for some lengthy January writing with this week’s Libation and December Tales of 300 words or less. I don’t know about yours, but my characters savor the opportunity to have a shot or two of Tennessee bourbon!
